About us
As we sat around a Lincoln Maine restaurant, speaking with Betty and Robin Gordon, MSG Gary Gordon's Mother and Sister, discussing the ideas of a monument to him, Betty told us, "He knew from an early age, that he wanted to be in the military. He had to have every GI Joe," she laughed. "He loved to draw" she continued, pulling out a framed sketch she had of his "His doodling consisted of tanks, battleships, helicopters, anything to do with the military." She did admit to being surprised, when at 17-year-old Gary told her, that he had enlisted into the Special Forces. His sister recalled, "When someone asked him why a Special Forces contract, he replied, 'I want to do something to be remembered for.'"
